SEO & Search Marketing

We’re a holistic search agency, but what does that mean? We cover everything with transparency: content SEO, technical SEO, UX seo, and SEO that matters.

An Australian SEO agency that covers everything search

SEO and search marketing is a phrase that gets pushed around a lot these days, and every agency does it. You’ve probably already made the inevitable Google search for SEO and found that out for yourself.

Lots of agencies talking lots of words and jargon, and no real sense of what it can do for you. The truth is that most search marketers talk about experience by selling backlinks, but real SEO is more than just backlinks. It’s understanding the whole site, and auditing how to make it better. It’s coming from years of experience in the search category, and knowing what the next steps in digital marketing are, whether they’re working on Australian SEO, Malaysian SEO, Singapore SEO, or SEO from anywhere else around the world.

It’s knowing that SEO is lots of things, and it sits under a recent practice called “holistic SEO”.

What is holistic SEO?

As a practice, holistic SEO is still fairly new, which given SEO is quite young, that’s saying something! Holistic SEO simply means EVERYTHING SEO. It’s the practice of saying your SEO needs cover more than one silo, and an instruction for experts to open their eyes and look at everything.

It all starts with an SEO audit, and then we’ll know what to look at.

It’s content. It’s technical. It’s UX and compression and authority and competitor analysis and then some. It’s the difference between local SEO and enterprise SEO, and knowing a bunch of things that Google understands, which will be the difference between searches know you exist and, well, not.

Unfortunately, websites don’t come pre-optimised for Google, and content isn’t guaranteed to be great. You can’t simply install a plugin for great SEO and hope to nail the top spot.

What you need is a team that lives and breathes this, and even teaches SEO for fun. They could be doing literally anything else, but they’re writing articles and teaching SEO for fun. Someone get them a drink or something.

Content SEO

Everyone does content SEO. It may as well be the thing you know SEO for. From page content to articles and blogs to massaging the right search terms and context-aware phrases into place, content SEO is the staple of all SEO agencies.

But great SEO content is more than just another article. It’s having a subject matter expert (SME) build great copy and ensuring a search specialist has optimised the work before it goes live. It’s content writing and production that’s made for purpose: increasing ROI.

Technical SEO

Then there’s technical SEO, also known as “the code and server side of your site”. That’s an area not every SEO specialist can handle, but it’s one we take pride in.

We’re big on technology. We love it with every fibre of our being. If we spend any more time with technology, it may as well become a fibre of our being. And because of this obsession, we spend our time analysing your site’s code, server stack, compression technology, sitemap, robots file, query strings, structured data, and more technical signals to get your site back on track.

UX SEO

Unbelievably, there’s more to SEO than content and technical SEO. There’s also how the site looks and functions, something Google can judge, too.

Think of Google like a user, understanding the look of the site on mobile and desktop and whether the damn thing works the way it’s supposed to. UX SEO is the art of looking at the creative side and determining just that: does it work, and is it made for purpose? If the answer is “no”, we’ll tell you, and then we’ll tell you how to fix it.

Offsite SEO (backlinks in SEO)

Google isn’t what it used to be back in 1996 when PageRank first appeared (Google wasn’t even really “Google” back then, either), but that doesn’t mean offsite SEO is totally useless. Backlinks form a part of the SEO world, providing one way for search engines to understand page authority and trust.

But they’re just one way. There are lots of ways to get anything done, and Google relies on lots of “signals” to understand websites in search.

We can do the offsite SEO that does work, while focusing on everything that matters. That’s what it means to be a holistic SEO.

An update focused on the Google algorithm

Being holistic SEO specialists, we’re a little different from everyone else out there. But we’re also different because we have our own approach for improving websites in line with Google updates.

While no one outside of Google (and possibly inside) can say when a Google Core Update is coming, our RIFF strategy helps us work out how to make the most from your site changes before Google rolls out its changes, so you’re never caught unaware.

“RIFF” is a unique approach in SEO, specifically focusing on the things that matter most, and the things that would move the needle if Google updated tomorrow. We fix the most important bits first by knowing your website entirely.

And we’re all musicians, too, so we’ve named it that way because when we’re done, we might even strum a song to match.

SEO accountability

One thing you don’t hear much from SEO is accountability. As in how do I keep my SEO marketing agency honest and trackable?

We’re big believers in being direct and transparent, and so all our work is data-driven and relates back to what’s working. It’s seeing results on a custom dashboard when needed, and being able to explain what’s going on in plain English. We’ll use our ethical SEO expertise to drive growth, comparing SEO vs SEM, and rework the strategy as time goes on, improving and changing so you can see what’s happening, almost in real time.

Search isn’t in real-time, despite thinking it is. It can take weeks for Google to acknowledge changes and improve your ranking. But as your SEO partner, we’ll be watching, waiting, and celebrating. For all the small things, as Blink would sing.
